Local H was started in 1987 in Zion, Illinois, by Lucas, bassist Matthew “Matt” Garcia, drummer Joe Daniels, and lead guitarist John Sparkman, all high school buddies. Lucas fitted bass pickups to his guitar to compensate after Sparkman and Garcia left the band in 1991 and 1993, respectively; Daniels left the band in July 1999 and was replaced by Brian St. Clair, leaving Lucas as the last original band member. Local H has published a number of albums, including a 2010 cover album. Lucas is also a member of the electronic band The Prairie Cartel, and his solo project, Scott Lucas and the Married Men, which he started in 2010, has published three albums.
He was also a member of The Cold Space, a cover band that included Randy Payne and Tom Szidon of Scott Lucas and the Married Men. He’s also toured with The Tossers, a band that includes members of Scott Lucas and the Married Men.
