Scott Dean Boras (born 2 November 1952) is a baseball-specialized American sports agent. He is the founding partner and chairman of the Boras Corporation a sports agency located in Newport Beach California that represents approximately 175 professional baseball clients including many of the highest-profile players in the game. He attended Pacific University where he set up record numbers for the baseball team at the school. He then spent a number of years playing in the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals minor league organizations. He retired after going through three knee surgeries, having spent four years in the minor leagues. He returned to Pacific University where he received a doctorate in industrial pharmacology and a degree in medical practice specializing in medicine.
