Sandy Dennis was born on April 27, 1937, in Hastings, a small town in the state of Nebraska, in the United States.
From a young age, Sandy showed a great interest in the world of cinema and theater, participating at the age of 19 in the Lincoln Community Theater Group, with which she moved to New York shortly after.

In the mid-50s, he appeared in the telenovela “The Guiding light”, which gave him great popularity. Thanks to this, some directors began to take an interest in her.
It was in the 1960s that Sandy had the opportunity to demonstrate her acting talent, participating in films such as Splendor in the Grass, a feature film by Elia Kazan in which she starred alongside Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty, playing the role of Kay , “The Fox”, “Sweet November”, “His intimate life” or Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf ?, a film by director Mike Nichols, in which he shared the limelight with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, giving life to Honey, Nick’s young and innocent wife, George Segal, a role that helped him get the Oscar for best supporting actress.
Despite her good performances and her projection in the world of cinema, Sandy preferred to focus on her theatrical roles, with which she would win two consecutive Tony Awards.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Sandy continued to work in film roles, starring in films such as “The Out-of-Towners”, “God Told Me To”, “The Four Seasons”, “Other woman” or 976-Evil, a horror movie, where he plays Aunt Lucy.
In 1991 he had the opportunity to interpret his last film, “The Indian Runner”, the feature film with which Sean Pean debuted as director and in which Sandy played Mrs. Roberts.
Sandy Dennis died in the state of Connecticut, in the United States, on March 2, 1992.
