Ronald de Boer was born on May 15, 1970 in Hoorn, Holland.

From a very young age he began to play in the lower categories of AFC Ajax, in 1987, coached by Johan Cruff.
In 1991 he was sold to FC Twente, although he would return shortly after.

In 1993 he returned to Ajax, where he won some League titles, the UEFA Champions League and the prestigious Intercontinental Cup.

In 1998 bought by FC Barcelona, ​​where he managed to win a Spanish League and a Copa del Rey. Together with his brother Frank de Boer they managed to win important things with the Barça club since 1999

He retired in 2003 playing for the Scottish club Rangers FC, where he won some Scottish leagues.

With the Dutch national soccer team he played 58 times, scoring 12 goals.
