At the age of 12 he began to play the guitar, and his main influence was given by Further Seems Forever Y Incubus, Radiohead, Gustavo Ceratti, among others. - Gilberto “Bibi” Marin, on electric guitar, who was born on January 26, 1983, also in Mexicali, BC
When he was 11 years old, he discovered a guitar in his closet at home, and since then he hasn’t put it down for a minute. He was always enthusiastic about music and at 17 he formed a garage band.
At 19, his cousin, Micky sandoval, invites him to be part of a cover group and since that invitation, he has continuously played on stages of all kinds.
The beginnings of Reik appear after an invitation from Abelardo Vazquez Ramos, its producer.
Reik, he recorded his first demos, leaving a personal stamp on them that would characterize them from the outset, and which was well received by the audience in his city.
Little by little, the young members of Reik They made their way through the different cities of their native Mexico.
The topics “Slightly” Y “Now without you” they quickly positioned themselves in the taste of young people.
Their sound is characterized by being fresh and different, and they were lucky to be very well accepted by the public.
But until that moment the group consisted only of Jesus Y July, while it was not until the beginning of 2004 that the “Bibi”, thus completing the concept of a pop trio.
After signing a contract with Sony music, at the end of February 2005 his first CD goes on sale, “Reik”, produced by the same producer of the group, Abelardo Vazquez and by Kiko cibrian.
The album, carrier 11 unreleased songs and its first cut “I would”, it was placed quickly in the first positions of the local radios and was the detonator of the success that would quickly reach the group.
His second album is titled “Sequence” And it also has 11 songs that show the evolution that the group has undergone, extremely positive, with more mature lyrics but maintaining the same young and fresh sound that characterized them from the beginning.
Its members like to play sports such as basketball and American football.
Also, as musicians, they love to go out and have fun, meet new people and of course play their music.
