OK so it wouldn’t be a true tourist visit to New York without stopping to see Times Square’s glitz and glamour; please don’t linger longer than you need. The region is filled with tourist-targeted money pits and such attractions have led publications like The New York PostBusiness Insider asking visitors to go anywhere beyond Times Square for a true taste of what the Big Apple has to offer. If you’re pulled into Times Square for a bit just snap the necessary pictures and move on to bigger things better otherwise you’ll find yourself walzing out of M M’s WorldMadame Tussaud’s Wax Museum for a $40 tour per person. We don’t mean the popular Magnolia Bakery won’t give you any darn good sweets but it’s overhyped to the full Business Insider writes its website but you’d have better luck (and shorter lines) in hundreds of other bakeries and cafes across the region. Don’t go for the Cronut craze while you’re at it either. People have been known to wait for hours at a time for a taste of Dominique Ansel’s apparel some going so far as to hire line-sitters to do the waiting for them notes ABC NewsCondà © Nast Traveler points out that Cronuts are overrated and the time spent waiting for them is wasted particularly on your fingertips with a city like New York. The Rockefeller Center tree and rink may be a dazzling sight to behold during the holiday season but the neighborhood is also a clogged mess of tourist families and angry commuters notes CBS New York. Though a skate on the Rockefeller Rink sounds fun, it’s exorbitantly expensive ($27 per adult plus $12 for skate rental) for a 90-minute session that’s most likely to be spent avoiding other skaters (150 skaters on the rink at a time)that’s if you can tolerate the hours of waiting it takes to get a spot on the ice. Instead, some skates at Bryant Park’s free rink situated only a few minutes south of Rockefeller Plaza reports CBS News New YorkBusiness Insider encourages tourists to head over to McCarren Rink in Brooklyn where crowds are scanty and prices are reasonable ($8 per adult plus $5 skate rental) and no time limit is set.

How long will Julie Chen stay on CBS?Charlie Papp More Articles January 16, 2019 Julie Chencast for Celebrity Big Brother Season 2 has recently been published. So what about the long-running host on the show? How long will Julie Chen stay on CBS?Chen supports her husband; leaves ‘ The Chat ‘ Standing in unity with her husband Chen signed off from her first appearance on BB after allegations of Moonves ‘ harassment have become public “I’m Julie Chen Moonves from outside the Big Brother House. Good night. “She’d just gone by her maiden name before. Chen announced on September 18 that she was leaving her eight-year hosting gig with The Talk via a video-recording tapped in front of the BB door. She wanted to spend time trying to clear the name of her husband and she said to be at home with her family. She finished hosting the BB season on Sept. 26 to her final. Julie Chen will still host ‘ Celebrity Big Brother ‘ to the jury for 79 Days with 8 Houseguests only! Double Tap for #BB20 A post shared by JULIE CHEN (@juliechencbs) on Sept 6, 2018 at 5:57pm PDT Chen has been Big Brother’s host since its July 2000 debut. The show is associated with her name. The upset with her husband and her absence from The Talk left viewers wondering about the show and its future. The series and Chen continued at least until now. We heard Chen will host with the announcement of houseguests for Celebrity Big Brother Season 2 and are contracted to spin-off the celebrity for this season. According to Variety, BB Season 20’s opener had a lower rating than previous years but that evening it comfortably overtook network TV watchers. CBS is planning a Big Brother Season 21 according to Big Brother Network. The CBS website states that it accepts requests for the series. It remains to be seen whether Chen will host. It is hard to see that she will give it up. But since her husband was officially dismissed for reason, and without an agreed severance pay of $120 million it is also probable that she may not return. Can ‘ Big Brother, ‘ without Chen, continue? While there are some who can not conceive of the show without its long-running host, there are other alternatives. The show will need a host, with the expected return this summer. Will it be Chen or another famous host or announcer on the show? Or a former cast member perhaps? One idea might be that of Jeff Schroeder. Schroeder was initially in the Season 11 series. Partly because of his initial “showmance” with Jordan Lloyd he was a fan favorite. Their partnership seemed to be that of mere friends during that season but viewers wanted more and so did the couple. On Day 61 Schroeder was evicted. Lloyd went on to win. Schroeder had won the “America’s Choice” reward of $25,000. In 2016 the two were married and have two children. Schroeder started hosting Season 14’s Big Brother Live Chat a recap show of the TV show’s events. He also hosted Survivor Live in the same way. Through the years he’s made numerous guest appearances on the BB. He currently hosts a regular entertainment and news show on TEGNA’s Regular Blast Live. Although Chen’s fate as host remains in the balance we will enjoy watching her Big Brother Celebrity Season 2 starting on January 21. It sounds like we can look forward to the regular Big Brother coming back with or without her this summer, and hope for another eventful season.
