The actress Pupella Maggio was born in the city of Naples, in Italy, on April 10, 1910, into a family of actors.
At two years of age, the actress had already been renamed to Pupella, in honor of a play that her parents performed “La Pupa movibile”. Her stage name means “little doll.”
From a very young age, the actress begins to intervene in different plays, with which she would obtain a great experience as an actress, especially in dramatic roles.
At the beginning of the 1940s and as a result of the death of her parents, the actress moved to Rome and radically changed her profession, beginning to work as a dressmaker.
Despite working in another trade, La Pupella never left the theater. In fact, in 1954, he became part of the prestigious company “Scarpettiana”, run by Eduardo De Felippo.
In 1959, the actress won various awards, including the Golden Mask, for the play “Rose on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.”
In 1960, the actress was chosen by Luchino Visconti to take part in the feature film “L ‘Arialda”.
In 1962, she married Luigi Dell’Isola, from whom she separated in 1976.
During this decade the actress played various roles and, in 1969, she won the Nastro d´Argento in the category of supporting actress, for her performance in the movie “The doctor.”
In 1973, he appeared in the film Amarcod, by Federico Fellini.
During the 1980s, Pupella continued with his theatrical activity, taking part in works by various classical authors.
On December 8, 1999, the actress died in Rome, Italy.
