Many devices keep track of your position as often as every two seconds which is disturbing. In the New York area alone, more than one million phones have their data shared and the number of phones that have their data sold internationally is unparalleled. 20 Android and iOs applications were checked and most of them were flagged for possible sharing of private location data by analysts and industry insiders alike. 17 of the 20 apps exchanged accurate latitude and longitude data with up to 70 companies and 40 of them also provided accurate location data with images. The privacy terms and conditions of most of the checked apps are explained quite briefly in the Eula. Some of the most popular apps caught selling data from their iOs and Android users include Ibm and the Weather Channel app which is one of the most common weather applications across both platforms.
