The company has confirmed plans to integrate the technology of TunnelBear into its own Vpn product Secure Link. TunnelBear has obeyed Canadian laws so far and it will be under U.S. laws after the acquisition. Changes may occur to the terms of service and privacy policy. McAfee just revealed they’re acquiring TunnelBear, the Vpn provider. No announcement was made about the contract, but the security giant addressed plans to integrate the technology into the Vpn product of Safe Connect McAfee. They have also confirmed that without much change the TunnelBear team will continue to work on TunnelBear items as well. TunnelBear often values the privacy of its users, a quality which its user base very much admires. It’s also one of the few Vpn services that had a security audit conducted by a third party. Fortunately the report points out that there are no critical safety problems found in the operation of TunnelBear. There were a few low to medium vulnerabilities but those were concealed from the report so hackers could not take advantage of the details. Now that TunnelBear was a Canadian company customers were still unable to stop intelligence services, the service given comes under U.S. control after being purchased by McAfee. This means adjustments are to be made to the terms of service and the privacy policy. Whatever the use of a Vpn service, there are many security concerns involved.
