The “war” between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones continues and moves … to the sea!
After Keith Richards (who played Edward Teague Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Pirates of the Caribbean 4)), now Paul McCartney also joins the saga in the fifth and highly anticipated chapter: Pirates of the Caribbean: Revenge of Salazar.
McCartney’s presence in the film was already well known (the announcement was made a year ago), but last Saturday the 13th it was finally revealed in what role. It was Sir Paul himself, who shared on Twitter the official poster of his character, commenting on it with a significant post: “Pirate life“.
From the stage of the most important stadiums and theaters in the world to the deck of a pirate ship, the step is not easy, but Paul managed it. And from what you can judge, the transformation worked out pretty well for him. In the first image of “Salazar’s Revenge“The former Beatle wore a black suit with wide cuffs, adorned with elaborate decorations, a wide-brimmed hat of the same color and a red bandana, braids decorated with silver skulls in his hair and beard and numerous rings on his fingers.
Sir Paul is holding what appear to be playing cards in his hands, which could be a clue to his character’s personality and passions. For the moment, the role is a secret; it is not even known if it is a cameo or a part with specific relevance to the plot of the film.
Paul McCartney joins a stellar cast, who once again sees Johnny Depp as Jack sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Hector barbossa, while newcomer Javier Bardem plays the villain on duty, the terrible Captain Salazar. To the delight of fans, the characters of Will turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth swann (Keira Knightley). As in the case of the former Beatle, the information about the role of the latter is very secretive, but the mystery will be revealed very soon.
