Pesudo – Biography of Pesudo

The soccer player José Manuel Pesudo Soler was born on June 1, 1936 in the town of Almassora, in the province of Castellón, in Spain. He was known in the football world as Pesudo and his demarcation was that of goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper was hired for the first time by a Spanish First Division team in 1958. Specifically, Valencia CF did, which offered him a 3-year contract, which Pesudo accepted.

FC Barcelona, ​​in 1961, reached an agreement with the goalkeeper to defend the “blaugrana” goal, doing so in 5 seasons.

At Barça he has the opportunity to play with such charismatic footballers as Rifé, Cayetano Ré or Fusté. On the bench, at that time, was the mythical Miguel Reina, who a few seasons later would be the head of the team.
Valencia CF reaches an agreement with Barça for Pesudo to return to the Turia city team in 1966, remaining there until 1971.

Real Betis Balompié hired the goalkeeper in 1971 for two seasons and, in 1973, Pesudo left under contract to Nástic de Tarragona, where, in 1974, at the age of 38, he decided to retire.

Within the goalkeeper’s record are the 3 Generalissimo Cups (currently the King’s Cup), 1 Fair Cup (currently the UEFA Cup) and 1 Spanish League. On an individual basis, Pesudo obtained a Zamora Trophy.

José Manuel Pesudo died in Valencia on December 5, 2003.
