Pedro Infante Cruz He was born on November 18, 1917, in Mazatlán, Mexico, and was a renowned actor and singer, who achieved a lot of fame in his country due to his charisma, his acting capacity and, above all, for being one of the greatest representatives of ranchera music.
Son of Delfino Infante Garcia and of Cruz Aranda RefugeFrom a very young age, he learned to carve wood in his father’s workshop, which was a hobby for him throughout his life. In addition, in those same times he showed a lot of talent and facility for music, which led him to learn to play various instruments. Thanks to the support of his father, Pedro studied guitar with Carlos R. Hubbard and developed his singing technique with the renowned teacher, Noah Quintero.
When he was already a teenager, he had his first daughter, named Guadalupe Infante Lopez. After a while, he married Maria Luisa Leon, with whom he adopted Dora luisa. Due to the good economic position of his wife, they moved to their residence in Mexico City, where he met Lupita Torrentera with whom, after abandoning his wife, he had three children: Graciela Margarita, Pedro Y Guadalupe Infante Torrentera.
Once settled in the Federal District, he began to perform different songs by musicians known as Cuco Sanchez, Alberto cervantes, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Salvador Flores Rivera, Chava Flores, Thomas Mendez Y Ruben Fuentes, among others. This allowed him to begin to make himself known among the people, and later he sang for the second most successful broadcaster in the Capital, called XEB.
It was in 1938 that he began to routinely sing for the XEW, in addition to making more massive presentations in places like the Colonial theater with “Jesus Martinez Palillo Y The Kúkaras“, and the nightclub Waikiki.
Since 1939, he began to work in several films, as the main protagonist, which gave him a lot of mass among the people of his town, especially in the working class, who began to see him as their representative. The first movie he appeared in was “Three baturros on a donkey“, where he got a role as a supporting actor. But, undoubtedly, his consecration as an actor was achieved after starring”The flower fair“, in the year 1943.
In that same year, he recorded his first material, called “The Private“, engraved for the seal of Peerless Disks.

Despite the fact that the vast majority of people believe that he was a stereotype of the macho, vicious and womanizing Mexican, those closest to the artist say that he was a sportsman and did not consume alcohol.
The artist’s life ended drastically on April 15, 1957, when Pedro rented a plane and crashed by accident between streets 54 and 87 at 7:30 in the morning, which caused his death, that of the pilot and two passers-by who passed through those streets, called Ruth Rossel Chan and the boy Baltazar Martin Cruz.
The remains of the singer and actor rest in the Pantheon Garden of Mexico City, a place where dozens of fans attend daily.
