Norah He was born in March 1979, more precisely on the 30th day in New York City. At the age of four they moved to Grapevine, where he lived with his mother until he was twenty, after the separation from his father. In his sweet home he received not only the musical influence of his mother, but also that of his grandmother, a passionate country of the otlaws.
In the course of her adolescence, Norah began to study singing and joined the church choir to sing gospel, after having started with piano and saxophone classes, which she had been doing since she was seven years old. At the time, he enrolled in an arts school, in which Jones’ performances for birthdays and music competitions were not lacking.
In 1995, Norah entered the Broker T. Washirable Institute, where she experienced her first contact with skin-to-skin jazz, and it is in the following year that she wins several awards for interpretation and composition for students.
Following this event, if he stopped learning, he decided to enter the University of North Texas, where he studied piano and theory in the jazz program and where he specialized in jazz keyboard and formed his first group.
In 1989, Norah returned to her hometown for a vacation and did not want to return, as she had contacted a group of musicians with whom she was delighted. Once inside “The big Apple”, This famous group began to collaborate with various bands.
Soon after, Norah, blinded by her love of music, dropped out of college and began writing her own songs, prompting her to form her own group with bassist Lee Alexander, Don’t Know Why guitarist and songwriter Jesse. Harris, and drummer Dan Rieser.
Together with her companions, the concerts began in different places, and it is in one of those concerts that Shell White, a member of the EMI record company, listens to her.
After a whole process, a contract appears “Eat Hawaii ITU Me”, her record debut, a 2002 hit that transforms Norah into the great winner of the 45th Grammy Awards with her eight won statuettes, including best album, song, record of the year and best new artist.
Two years later Norah Jones surprises with “Feels Like Home”, bearer of great collaborators.
In December 2005, Norah announced her new album “The Little Wilies”.
