Nicholas Stoller – Biography of Nicholas Stoller

Film director, writer and producer Nicholas allen stoller He was born on March 19, 1976 in the city of London, England, but grew up in Miami (Florida), in the United States. He studied high school at St. Paul’s boarding school in New Hampshire, after which he attended Harvard University where he wrote for The Harvard Lampoon and performed with the improvisational media group The Immediate Gratification Players.

Between 2000 and 2001, Stoller was a screenwriter on the Judd Apatow-produced series, “Undeclared“; some years later he returned to work with Apatow as scriptwriter of the feature film “Dick and Jane – Laughing Thieves“(2005).

As a screenwriter, Stoller He wrote in 2007 a comedy about a new teacher at a boarding school (the same one he attended). His next job was the script for “Yes man“(2008), comedy that starred Jim Carrey.

His directorial debut dates back to 2008 when he released “Forgetting Sarah Marshall“, a romantic comedy starring Jason Segel, Mila Kunis, Jonah Hill, Kristen Bell and Russell Brand. The film was also produced by Apatow and released by Universal Studios on April 18 of that year.

The Apatow team reunited with actors Jonah Hill and Russell Brand for “All about my riot“, released on June 4, 2010.

In 2008 Stoller and Jason Segel co-wrote the screenplay for “The Muppets“, which was produced by Disney Studios and released on November 23, 2011. Following the success of the film, Stoller and its director, James Bobin, began writing the sequel. A year before it had been released “Gulliver’s Travels“(2010) whose script he co-wrote Nicholas.

His latest work is the feature film he wrote and directed, again produced by Judd Apatow, “Eternally Committed (The Five-Year Engagement)“premiered at the 2012 New York Tribeca Film Festival.

In his personal life, Stoller He is married to Francesca Delbanco (daughter of writer Nicholas Delbanco and granddaughter of cellist Bernard Greenhouse), whom he met at a Harvard alumni workshop. They both have a daughter.
