The law enforcement hit-drama has aired a total of 209 episodes since it became the 2010 premier. Yet there is no news or any indication that the show based in New York City will soon be cancelling. With so many seasons filmed, and in the books, the question arises as to how the series worked in this long existed. Take a closer look at some of the moments the acclaimed series got no support and low ratings.

Danny Reagan and Prosecutor Maria Baez were involved in a murder investigation and Frank was pressured with a relative to deal with unethical legal issues. It doesn’t sound too different from most plots for which the episodes are popular so why a low rating? Danny and Baez are well known for their legendary relationships but in this particular episode there may have been something off about the pair. “Payback” won the second place in the lowest-rated episodes of Blue Bloods. Frank deals with having to navigate a legal and moral problem with a friend yet again in this chapter. As normal Danny and Baez pursue their guts on a lead that involves the killing of a famous chef. Alex Chapple directed both “Payback” and “The Poor Window” but there were a number of other episodes on the list that were shot by other producers. “Home Sweet Home” and “Love Stories” are two more episodes from which the cut was made.
One look at the full list of the five lowest season. Of the 25 spots with the lowest ratings, 10 were from Blue Bloods Season 5. This means that nearly 50 per cent of the lowest ratings come from the 2014 season that started airing. It is unclear why so many episodes during season five received such low ratings but it is certainly a significant observation. Regardless of the ratings and how the show came to be, it didn’t seem phased and it continued to gain a lot of success.
