Showtime Starz and Epix Content Also Available in Roku Channel Premium SubscriptionsFigure 1 Photo Courtesy of Roku Roku collaborated with several networks to introduce new content to its Roku Network. The new partners include the likes of Starz and Showtime who give content trials for a week or more. Via Viewster Roku also covers anime and music material via Baeble Music. The Roku Channel is one of the best places to watch free content, and with the Showtime Starz and Epix collection, it is now getting a lot more opportunities to air their content through the channel. Users will be able to register as add-on channels for all of the above services. Roku is also expanding its website, and will also be available on streaming platforms from third parties. Even if you own a Roku account and plan to subscribe to any of the new services, you won’t be able to use the standalone Showtime Starz or Epix applications. All the add-on content will only be available in The Roku Store. The Android and iOs apps will access all the new content so you don’t have to worry about having to rely on mobile browsers to view your favorite TV shows and movies. The site is also moving away from its regular content and will also be offering music and anime. Although Roku provides nothing out of the ordinary the seamless experience of being able to access multiple channels on the same platform without needing you to have a previous subscription such as Amazon Prime is a big bonus. Apple is also said to be working on a similar service which will combine Apple Music and News under a single banner as well. Grip.
