Biography:
Maxima Zorreguieta, the Argentine who reigned in the Netherlands, was born on May 17, 1971 in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The fourth daughter of Mr. Jorge Horacio Zorreguieta and the first daughter of Mrs. María del Carmen Cerruti de Zorreguieta, grew up in Buenos Aires, for which she obtained her high school diploma at Northlands School in 1988.
Later, the lady has continued her training at the Universidad Católica Argentina, where she graduated in economics, with excellent grades. Without knowing about his future, during his university career, Maxima has worked from 1989 to 1990 at Mercado Abierto SA, where his job consisted of conducting research on software focused on the financial market. Then, in 1992, he changed his job to a new one in the Sales Department of Boston Securities SA in Buenos Aires. And simultaneously Zorreguieta is in charge of giving private English classes to children and adults and math classes to high school students and first year students.
After a while, the current princess begins to work at HSBC James Capel Inc. in New York having to bet on her future by heading to new lands, as Vice President of Institutional Sales for Latin America. Her next job has been again in New York at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, also as vice president of the Emerging Markets department, specializing in Equities.
This woman has been very hard-working, and has had numerous jobs in which she has performed with excellent results, until in 2001 her marriage commitment to HRH the Prince of Orange was officially announced, and soon after to the beautiful young woman. Dutch nationality is granted.
And that is how the day first came when the Joint Session of the States General approved a law presented by the Government by which permission was given to the Prince of Orange to marry Máxima Zorreguieta; and second when on February 2, 2002 the mayor of Amsterdam, MJ Cohen, celebrated the civil marriage in the old building of the Stock Exchange in Amsterdam. This has had a religious ceremony that has been held in the Nieuwe Kerk church and has been officiated by the Protestant pastor CA ter Linden. And this is how the young worker has become that princess, whom so many envy, and since she has been engaged in marriage, Princess Máxima has become familiar with Dutch society and with the society of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
At present, the princess is already the mother of two beautiful girls, with whom she continues to visit beautiful places with her husband, without neglecting her obligations.
