Max Mirnyi – Biography of Max Mirnyi

Max Mirnyi was born on July 1977 in Minsk, Belarus.

His best achievements so far are his 4 Grand Slam titles (as a doubles player). On June 9, 2003 he reached the first position of the ATP doubles Ranking, and his best position as a singles player was 18 in the ranking, in August of the same year.

He became a hero of his country in an excellent performance by Belarus in the 2004 Davis Cup, when they reached the Semifinals (where they were defeated against the United States) having beaten Russia 3-2, and a resounding 5 a 0 to Argentina.

He won a total of 33 titles, of which 32 are as a doubles player (4 Grand Slam, 1 Tennis Masters Cup, 12 ATP Masters Series and 15 ATP Tours) and the only remaining as a singles player (1 ATP Tour)

He won the US Open twice (2000 and 2002), partnering with Lleyton Hewitt and Mahesh Bhupathi respectively.
In addition, he also won 2 French Opens (2005 and 2006), forming a duo in both with the Swedish Jonas Björkman, and beating the American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan (in the 2 finals).

In 2006, together with Jonas, he managed to win the Tennis Masters Cup held in Shanghai, China, defeating Mark Knowles (United States) and Daniel Néstor (Canada) in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-2.
