Marcos Alonso was born on October 1, 1959 in Santander, Cantabria, Spain.

He was a right winger who had great speed and dribbling, highlighted especially at Atlético de Madrid, where he played for 5 seasons in two different periods and also at FC Barcelona, ​​where he played for 5 years (between 1982 and 1987).

One of his best moments as a soccer player was when in the final of the Copa del Rey in the 1982-1983 season, Spain’s two eternal soccer rivals met in Zaragoza: Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. His team won the final by 2 goals to 1, thanks to a spectacular goal with his head scored by Marcos in injury time.
