María Lucía Sánchez was born on March 15, 1982 in the Spanish city of Madrid.
He showed his voice to the public only at the age of 14, when he sang before his family at a party, and everyone fell in love with his voice.
She was integrated into the musical environment when she was only 15 years old, when the producer Jesús Yanes heard her sing and was delighted. It was from his hand that he began to record his first album, which was titled “Apprentice”, with great help from the singer Alejandro Sanz.
Of this first album, 400,000 copies were sold and it remained on the official AFYVE sales list for 7 months.
In 1998, Malú, as her aunt nicknamed her since she was a child, won the award for “Best New Artist”, and had the honor of being among the nominees for the award of “Best Female Artist”.
His first album was accompanied by his first tour, which he made in Spain and Latin America. Soon after, Malú signed a contract with Walt Dysney Records to interpret the soundtrack of the children’s film “Mulan”.
In 1999, he presented “You will change”, an album in which she mainly notices the change in her voice, which she defines as much more mature.
Later he participated in “Tattoo”, a record in which he sang with Marta Sánchez, Ana Belén and Víctor Manuel.
Two years later, precisely in May 2001, he released his third album called “This time”, in which the well-known producer Estéfano and Antonio Carmona, among other luxury producers, collaborate.
From this record work, hits such as “Without You Everything Goes Wrong” or “All”, which sold about 300,000 copies throughout Spain.
Soon after, Malú is encouraged to tour both Spain and America, which prompted the launch of his fourth album, entitled “Another Skin”, officially launched on the market in June 2003.
This work is his most personal album due to the selection of themes on his part, and he encourages new sounds, which shows a different facet and the dislocation of his heartbreaking ballads.
For some time, Malú talked about a supposed surprise in several of his radio interviews, which ended up being his fifth live album. One night in October 2004 in Madrid, Malú was recording “For once”, along with David de María, Antonio Orozco, Alejandro Sanz and his father Pepe de Lucía, definitely an incredible group. The disc was joined by the DVD, which contained the performance of that night, videos and photographs.
In 2005, Malú’s sixth work is already on sale, released on April 18, which he simply titled “Malú”. Discography
