Antonio Augusto Ribero Reis Junior was born on January 30, 1975 in the village of Recife, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil.
At an early age he began to play soccer instructed by his father who in his days had been a good player in the minor leagues.
Under this tutelage and also attending a soccer school in his town, Juninho entered the Sport Club do Recife on 1993, thus starting his professional career.
Luckily for him, his performance in the state tournament was spotted by a coach from the lower divisions of the Vasco da Gama.
The following year, in nineteen ninety five this institution bought his pass and made him play and succeed in more than one international tournament.
For starters, his first title was in 1997 when the Brazilian Championship I am in the hands of the Vasco da Gama in large part because of his quality as a midfielder.
