The Peruvian singer, musician, actor and producer Jean Paul Strauss Martínez de la Torre was born in the city of Lima on February 25, 1971. His mother is the first Peruvian actress Ana Maria Martinez, and his father the Argentine actor Fernando de Soria.
After completing his primary and secondary studies at the Mater Purísima School in Miraflores, he traveled to Chile with his mother to study Advertising in the city of Santiago.
After a while, Jean Paul decided to become a singer and in 1994 he released his first album, which he named Simply Strauss. Thanks to this debut album, he was able to make his first presentation at the Viña del Mar Festival of that same year, where he was awarded by the international press as the best competition artist.
The following year his theme “Of everything mine, mine is more”, was heard on some radio stations in Lima and quickly reached the first place for more than 9 weeks. Strauss appeared on various stages in Peru, Chile and Argentina, and shared with Alberto Plaza, with the Spanish interpreter Marcos Llunas, and with the Argentines Charly garcia Y Nito Mestre.
This singer has devoted much of his time to doing social work and became the image of “Teleamor” Y “Televida” several times being also the composer of the songs that were included in the campaigns.
Wanting to be a complete artist, Jean Paul did not hesitate to perform some plays and to play a few characters in international soap operas, always set to music by him.
Another of his albums was Thinking of you, which came out in 1996, with several songs that were played and placed on the radios of the Peruvian capital. Continuing with his role as an actor, he obtained one of the main roles in another television production in his country entitled Obsession.
Friend of Gianmarco and of the also Lima singer Jose Pardo, he joined to Sunday Giribaldi to perform the musical Voices and Strings, playing a leading role.
After a few years, Strauss returned in 2004 to Viña del Mar Festival, to sing his song Vida, where he is recognized with the silver Seagull What Best International Interpreter.
Five years later, he shows another of his talents by becoming the hero of the dance show “The Dream Show”Getting second place of the season.
For June 2010, he again surprised all his followers when he made his debut as a film actor in the film called Bad intentions, which came from the hands of the director Rosario Garcia-Montero and that was released months later.
Clearly and despite being a man with many qualities, Jean paul strauss stands out for its songs and compositions, for this reason it has received the Platinum album by exceeding 10,000 copies sold of their albums of jazz Vibra Peru.
Like any artist who has known how to obtain national and international success, this famous interpreter set the music for the telenovela of the Mexican network TV Azteca called Prófugas of destiny, also recorded in 2010.
His most recent projects have been the musical Almost Normal in the role of Dan Goodman, and the song he recorded alongside the European singer. Marcos Llunas for the soap opera Ana Cristina which is titled She is.
For 2012, he has in mind to present the Show that brings with him his latest album Peru party, which includes the genres of huayno, festejos, cumbia, salsa and ballads.
