How much Netflix paid for some Friends
Before Netflix Friends was available only on selected TV networks (as reruns) and for purchase through iTunes and other online stores. From Amazon Target Best Buy and other retailers, viewers could even buy the seasons and the entire show on DVD. Netflix then made a solid fan of Friends in 2015, and launched the whole show on its streaming platform. Some of the series on Netflix are considered lost episodes and can’t be found elsewhere, according to Forbes. The missed episodes include Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Joey s (Matt LeBlanc) near the end of the series’ strained romantic relationship.
How Netflix turned down
Hulu Netflix had the opportunity to purchase streaming rights before Seinfeld made its way onto Hulu Netflix. At the moment, Sony Pictures was in talks with four “Netflix Hulu Amazon and HBO” major streaming services, and Netflix was the first to pass on the opportunity. The reason Netflix turned Seinfeld down is possibly because of the enormous expense. There’s no word on how much Sony Pictures and other big players behind the show (like Jerry Seinfeld himself) originally asked for but Hulu bought exclusive rights to the series for a whopping $160 million (that’s about $875,000 per episode).
Hulu announced its big Seinfeld contract in 2015 after Netflix launched Friends on its streaming platform (and turned down Seinfeld). The budding video network forked more than nearly $1 million per episode to seal the contract given its expensive price tag. Since then it’s introduced to its lineup other famous sitcoms such as Fraiser and Will and Grace. The Cheat Facebook Cover! What is Mental Health Really Like for Donald Trump?
