George Peppard was born on October 1, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, United States. He was the son of a construction contractor and an opera singer. He attended his high school studies at Dearborn High School, Michigan City.
Shortly after, at the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946, becoming an infantry corporal. When he left the Armed Forces, he studied Civil Engineering at Purdue University, where he began to participate in various plays.
In the year 1955, he finished his studies, graduating with very good grades, but despite this the following year he began his acting career.
In the second half of the 1950s, he appeared in television programs such as “The United States Steel Hour”, an hour-long program, in which the most important dramas of the moment, films, plays were recreated. and books of playwrights. He also intervened in “Westinghouse Studio One” Y “Alfred Hitchcock Presents”. In this decade, he appeared in a movie such as The Stranger or Suspicion.
In the 1960s he continued with roles and performances in films such as “With him came the scandal”, directed by Vicent Minnelli, along with Robert Mitchum and Eleanor Parker. In 1961 he shared the leading role with Audrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Diamonds, a masterful feature film by Blake Edwards. In 1967 he took part in the film Tobruk and “Night of the Titans”.

In the 70s he combined his performances with the small screen, where he would star in “Banacek”, a very original detective, who went on horseback through the city arresting criminals. For two seasons I star in “Doctors Hospital”, a series of great acceptance and of which innumerable versions have been made.

During the eighties, George continued to work on several films such as Playing with Death or Treasure of the Yankee Zephyr, a feature film in which he would share the bill with Donald Pleasence and Lesley Ann Warren.
In 1983, he landed the role of Hannibal Smith in the television series “Team A”, role that made him known worldwide. The series was on the air for 5 seasons, and in it he shared the limelight with Mr. T, Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict.
Despite the fact that the A-Team series took up many hours of work, he was able to intervene in several films that same decade, such as “Tales of the unexpected” or “The man against the mafia”, or in series like “The night of the Foxes” or “Matlock”.
George Peppard, died in Los Angeles, California, on March 8, 1994, due to lung cancer.
