If it comes to accessories Bond is either wearing with his tuxedo whatever snazzy dress shoes go or battling some villain with a dagger sticking out of their boot. That doesn’t deter shoe brands from teaming up for promotional products with the Bond creators and Adidas has something for 007 fans ahead of the release of the 25th official James Bond feature No Time to Die. What did Bond prepare for Adidas?
Adidas has produced a new version of the Ultra Boost 20 sneaker. The shoe features a black top with a matching lace cage and a contrasting rubber outsole with white stitching on the sole. The features of the Bond are not limited to the signature 007. Sneaker News reports that “the design around the heel and tongue looks like a carbon fiber template” and this could be a reference to Bond’s iconic Aston Martin car that reappears in the new film that was shot in Skyfall. The tongue branding has mirrored the series of gun barrels playing at the start of most Bond movies. The sneaker has not yet been released, but is expected to appear ahead of the April 8 movie that will be released in the US. There is no price yet reported but this style of retail shoes are likely to be north of that for $180 on the Adidas site, and the Bond shoe.
What additional cool Bond gadgets would you buy? The $180 package is cheap compared to other Bond-related products that you can purchase. For example, if you’ve got $9200 to burn you can buy the Omega Seamaster watch Bond will wear himself. According to GQ Bond used to swear by Rolex, but since Bond served in the Royal Navy before his MI6 years, it made more sense for him to wear Omega because he looked like Pierce Brosnan back in 1995. Daniel Craig who’s making his fifth and final turn as James Bond is an Omega addict in particular. “While partnering with Omega, we determined that the secret to a military man like 007 would be a lightweight watch,” Craig said through a press release. “To give the watch a special edge I have suggested some retro touches and colour. The final piece looks amazing.” Also at $9200 a garotte wire and a miniature television are not included but the watch has a distinctive Bond logo just like the Adidas shoe does.
