Festicket is an online ticket booking site that enables users to find globewide concerts and music festivals. Spotify recently announced its new “Festival Finder” feature that lets users connect their existing Spotify tickets to Festicket and receive recommendations for music festivals. The function of the Festival Finder takes advantage of the details about upcoming festivals stored in the large database of the Uk based startup. Using an algorithm, the app will classify what kind of music you like and list the ten most important music festivals that may be applicable to you. The tie-up between Festicket and Spotify helps the ticketing company overcome the question of discoverability. Festicket was unable to provide a “Explore” feature that enables users to find personalized recommendations based on their preferences. With more than a thousand festivals on the web and Spotify’s large user base music lovers from both platforms expect to enjoy the tie-up. .149.149 Figure 2 Image Courtesy of TechCrunch Ceo and co-founder of Festicket revealed “Our Festival Finder solves this problem by providing a personalized list of festivals that best match your listening habits including some under the radar gems that could soon become your favorite new festival destination.” They will not obtain any other personal information. Despite Spotify losing Apple Music’s number one spot in the Us, the move could help the music streaming service gain a significant number of users. Grip.
