Actor Enrique Borrás was born in 1863 in the town of Badalona, province of Barcelona.
Enrique was born into a family of merchants, despite which, from a very early age, he decided to direct his profession towards acting, beginning to act very early in works represented by amateur companies.
He is considered one of the most prestigious Spanish actors of the time, both in Catalan and Spanish.
His professional debut took place in 1886, and in his early days he usually worked with the actor Antonio Vico. It did not take long for him to become part of one of the most important companies in Barcelona, the Romea Theater, where he worked for a few years representing a large number of works by prestigious authors such as Ángel Guimerá, Ignacio Iglesias and Santiago Rusiñol.
In 1904 he went to live in Madrid, and also began to tour throughout the Spanish geography, working with some of the best actresses of the time, such as María Guerrero or Rosario Pino. From the year 1909 he joined the company of the Spanish Theater of Madrid.
Among the works that the actor starred in throughout his life, impossible to list here, we will highlight some such as “Terra baixa”, “The mayor of Zalamea”, “The grandfather”, “The kingdom of God”, “The bell “,” The other “,” The mystic “or” The holy viceroy “, among a large number of them, most of them classical authors.
Enrique Borrás died, in 1957, in Barcelona.
