The writer Eloy Moreno Olaria was born on January 12, 1976 in the city of Castellón de la Plana.
He completed his secondary studies at the Francisco Ribalta Institute, in his hometown. Once completed, he decided to study Technical Engineering, which he did at the Jaume I University of Castellón, graduating in the specialty of Management Informaticsn.
After finishing his studies, he began to work as a computer scientist in a private company, although he soon applied for a position in the Castellón City Council, which he obtained. Currently, he continues to occupy that job, which he combines with his writings.
Eloy became known with his first novel, which he edited himself and which was a great success. It was about “The green gel pen”, A novel focused on the story of a man who is capable of starting from scratch with the aim of making everything he has always dreamed of come true. The author managed to sell 3,000 copies, which led the Espasa Publishing House to sign him, republishing the book and translating it into several languages. In addition, he got the Onda Cero Castellón Award, in recognition made for the diffusion of the novel. He was also a finalist in the narrative section of the Valencian Critics Awards 2012.
In 2013 he published his second novel, this time with the title of “What i found under the sofa”. It tells us about everything that we can find when we move a sofa under it, a metaphor for everything that we can find in our life when we remove a part of it, and that many times can surprise us.
Eloy is also the author of some short stories, such as “The growing bed “, with which he won the Casal Jove de Castelló Short Story Contest.
