Adel Gharib Nasrallah was born to a family of Orthodox Christian Palestinians in Ramallah Mandatory Palestine in June 1929 and was the owner of several hotels when he turned 19. Nasrallah decided to leave the country settling in the United States during the 1950s after Israeli soldiers gunned down his brother-in-law during the Arab-Israeli War of 1948.
