Thomas attended Alabama and was drafted fourth overall in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he spent his entire 11-year career until his death in 2000. He was named to nine Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pro teams, and he still holds the record for most sacks in a single game with seven.
