David Nalbandian was born on January 1, 1982 in Unquillo, Córdoba, Argentina.
He started playing at age 5 and soon after became one of the strongest promises in Argentine tennis, he confirmed it when he won the US Open Juniors in 98 ‘. In 200 he turned professional and the following year he was among the 50 best in the world, after winning some Challengers tournaments.
In 2002 he finished as the best Argentine and South American player, with two titles (Basel and Estoril) and reaching the Wimbledon final.
