Sudev Nair is an Indian film actor known for his performance in the Malayalam film My Life Partner, for which he was awarded the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2015. He also starred in the 2019 Hindi film India’s Most Wanted in the title role opposite Arjun Kapoor. His directorial Debut Not Fit for The Viral Fever and Dice Media which he also wrote and starred in as the main lead was featured in MAMI and won several awards.

Sudev will be soon seen in his third film Anarkali (2015), which is a Malayalam film directed by script writer Sachy. This film marks the directorial debut of Sachy with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon playing the lead roles. The movie was extensively shot in Lakshadweep Islands, where the actor took an opportunity to learn scuba diving. He is now a certified open water scuba diver. He is part of the ten episode web series Not Fit, where he is playing the role of a struggling actor and quintessential fool. It is a mockumentary sitcom written and directed by Sudev himself. It is created by Pocket Aces who for a limited time, gave the license of the series to the digital media company, TVF (The Viral Fever) and has garnered exceptional reviews for extremely smart content, a first even for the Indian Web space. It has already been revived for a second season for 2016. The mini series # life of an introvert (2019) featuring Sudev with each video lasting for less than a minute was well received and was applauded for the content filled with humour.

His other works include the Hindi film Gulaab Gang (2014) and the Malayalam film Anarkali (2015). He also played a notable role in the movie Karinkunnam 6’S.Slleplessly Yours He also played the title character in the movie Ezra, along with Prithviraj Sukumaran.

His acting career began with the Bollywood Film Gulaab Gang (2014), directed by Soumik Sen. Set with a plot on the struggle of Indian Women, Gulaab Gang had an ensemble star cast including Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. The movie was praised by critics garnering positive response for the acting performances. Sudev then went on to star in debutant M. B. Padmakumar’s My Life Partner, which dealt with the emotional relationship between two men. The movie became a controversy and faced issues with its release. Sudev played the role of Kiran along with Ameer Niyaz, for which he went on to win the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor 2014. It was for the first time that a Best Actor award was given for a film that hadn’t received a proper release.

Despite being placed in the routine campus placements after Engineering, his passion for cinema drove him towards his Post graduation at the Pune Film Institute. The inception of his film-making career began with various short films in various genres, which participated in competitions and festivals at National and International levels. His short ad for Mountain Dew soft drink was shortlisted to the finals at the MOFILM Barcelona Ad Film Fest in 2010.

Sudev, whose family hails from Palakkad, grew up and brought up in Mumbai, India, with his early schooling completed at Sulochanadevi Singhania High School, Thane. He completed his 11th and 12th at V.G Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mulund. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur in 2007. Sudev also holds a post graduation in Acting from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

Trained in break dancing and parkour, Sudev has also learnt Kathakali from Kerala Kalamandalam on a scholarship from SPIC MACAY during his course at the Pune Film Institute. He is also trained in combat arts such as Boxing, Karate, Judo and Kalari Payattu. He is a Bronze Medal holder in High Jump at the Under 16 National Games in the year 2001.
