Craig philip bierko was born in 1964 in Rye Brook, New York, United States.
Son of Pat Y Rex bierko, who worked a local theater, Craig studied journalism at the Boston University and then in the Northwestern University, from which he graduated in 1986.
His mother was Jewish and he converted to Catholicism, raising him a Catholic, although he has said it is “very connected” to his Jewish background.
Craig made his stage debut at age ten playing the role of a newsboy in the montage of “Gypsy“organized by an amateur theater company run by his parents.
In 2001 Bierko completed a successful theatrical season with “The Music Man” from Meredith Wilson. His debut in Broadway it was precisely playing the role of the legendary Harold hill, with which he obtained the favor of the critic; was nominated for the prestigious Tony Awards, to the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award, to the Dramatic Association Awards and finally received an award from Theater world.
On television he is known for his guest appearances on “Sex in New York“,”Ally mcbeal“,”Mad about you“,”Nip / Tuck” Y “Boston Legal“.
He was originally cast to play Chandler bing in the series “Friends“but rejected the role that fell to Matthew perry.
Bierko got rave reviews for his portrayal of the boxer Max baer in the movie of Ron Howard “Cinderella man“(2005), together with Russell crowe Y Renée zellweger.
