He spent a short time in a circus, where he worked as a lion tamer, Christopher went to Hofstra University in the early 60s, but left it to dedicate himself entirely to representing plays, participating in “Best Foot Forward”, a play co-starring her good friend Liza Minnelli.
In 1978 Christopher Walken won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his incredible performance in Michael Cimino’s film. “The hunter”, a role that also earned him the New York Film Critic Circle Award as well as a Golden Globe nomination. Walken also received an Academy Award nomination in 2002, again for Best Supporting Actor, and won the BAFTA and SAG for his role in the Steven Spielberg film “Catch Me If You Can”, where he shot alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
Walken gained attention on the big screen for his portrayal of Dianne Keaton’s brother in “Annie Hall”by Woody Allen, which won the Oscar for best picture. And since then he has worked in more than 50 films, some of them are: “Money fallen from the sky”by Herbert Ross; “The dead zone”, David Cronenberg’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same title; “Men face to face”, with Sean Penn; “Misadventures of an innocent recruit”, based on the play by Neil Simon; “The King of New York”by Abel Ferrara; “Pulp Fiction”by Quentin Tarantino; “Suicide Kings”; “The couple of the year”, a Joe Roth comedy, starring Julia Roberts, John Cusack and Billy Cristal; “Batman returns” by Tim Burton and “Sleepy Hollow”, along with Johnny Depp.
