Chris Stapleton joined the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers as its frontman in 2007. He did not stay long with the band as he was already out by 2010. In the same year, Greg McKee J.T. Cure and Bard McNamee gave The Jompson Brothers more time in a Southern rock band which he was a member of with others. He released the album The Jompson Brothersin 2010, with the band. It was only in 2013, after being signed by Universal Music Group Nashville (Mercury Nashville), that Stapleton began singing as a solo artist. His first song that came out that same year, What Are You Listening To? Not performing well but it became evident with the release of his debut album Travellerin 2015 that he was a great force.
