The book (Diana: Her True Story) released from more than just the royals to mixed reviews and criticism. There were items Morton kept under wraps beyond this “official” tome: what Diana supposedly said on those recordings. Recent reports suggest Morton has learned more of what Diana transmitted through an intermediary friend named James Colthurst on those secret recordings. Morton opened up in a British documentary about the disturbing things he heard on the recordings which he still still has in his possession. It is not clear why he sat on those harsher discoveries all these years. Some might argue that he is actually using it to generate more publicity so he can sell more copies of the book (and his new books). Yes the book of Diana is still in print and is the only real definitive insight into the life of Diana. No doubt Morton’s real reason for hiding this damning information from the tapes is fear of how the royal family would react. Perhaps he decided to wait past the 25-year mark to share more given the fact that everyone involved at the time is still alive. Such hidden tapes were eerily adapted into a play in Scotland a few years ago that had some limited critical acclaim. There is no way of knowing whether what Diana went through will not happen again. One thing we do know is that Prince Charles and Diana should never have married in the first place because we know that Charles wanted to marry Camilla Parker Bowles in the first place. We say this as an insult, because then William and Harry would never have been born. At least true love is back in the royal family, eliminating half of the war now. The other part we may never see change is coping with a hungry new generation of paparazzi. Kate and Meghan outsmarting the paparazzi will be the only way to ensure all over again that things don’t change to a disastrous end.
