Carlos Augusto Alves Santana, was born in 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico.
Music was felt early in his life thanks to his father, who was a violinist in a mariachi band, and thanks to this, the young man Carlos he learned to play the violin, which he later switched to the guitar, when he was only eight years old.
When the year 1955 arrived, together with his family they moved to Tijuana, and right there Santana he begins to expand his music, appearing to play in clubs and bars in the tourist area.
When his family moved to San Francisco, California, he stayed a while longer in Tijuana, but soon followed them.
Later, in 1966, when Santana I was already 19 years old, managed to form the “Santana Blues Band”, then shortened to the simple name of “Santana”, and with this band they begin their presentations.
They played in various places, among which we can highlight The Fillmore West, where many of San Francisco’s legendary bands played.
After a while, his first recording arrives, which was called “The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper” with Al Kooper Y Mike bloomfield.
Later, he signs a contract with Columbia Records, and that’s when Santana released an album called “Santana”, accompanied by the group that would be formed by: Carlos Santana on guitar, Gregg rolie in piano and voice, David brown on the bass, Michael shrieve as a drummer, Jose Areas Y Michael Carabello on percussion.
After the success they obtained in their first musical tour, the works of the 1970s and 1971, called “Abraxas” Y “Santana III” respectively.
Soon after, the original band disbanded, until it came Rolie, a new member who founded “Journey” and, after a while, Carlos Santana he has used the name and a number of different musicians to continue his tour after the United States, releasing several albums.
Fame accompanied them at all times, so that in this period, Carlos adopted the name “Devadip”, conferred by the spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy, and has presented many albums in this same decade.
When the year 1991 came, Santana is presented to the public with a new album by Ottmar liebert called “Just for you”, which presents between the songs “Reaching out 2 U” and a new recording of your own song “Samba for you”, generating a great success trigger of fame.
The next year, Carlos cancel your contract with Columbia and, shortly after, presents a new recording by the hand of Polygram Y Arista Records, an impeccable product.
After a few years, Carlos receives the invitation from Alex Lora, from the Mexican rock band The Tri, to collaborate on a song titled “Dark virgin” of the disk “When you are not here”, for which appears later Santana, playing the guitar in this now classic song by The Tri.
Santana returned to the top after a few years, in 1999, along with the release of “Supernatural”, a new album that reveals collaborations with Rob thomas, Eric Clapton, Lauryn hill Y Manna, and this album, has undoubtedly been the best-selling generator, reaching number one on the list Billboard and winning 9 Grammy awards.
When the year 2002 arrived, Santana brings to light “Shaman”, returning to include guest artists, including POD, Seal Y Michelle Branch.
Years later, unable to stop his ability to compose and express himself musically, he released a new album called “All That I Am”, which also features guest artists such as Big boi, Mary J. Blige, black Eyed Peas, The Lonely Boys, Sean Paul, Kirk hammett (from Metallica), Steven Tyler (from Aerosmith) Y Robert randolph.
