Filmed in 1941 by Rouben Mamoulian, “Blood and Sand” is an American film that is based on the novel of the same name by the Spanish writer Vicente Blasco Ibáñez. The feature film was starred by actors of the stature of Tyrone Power, Rita Hayworth, Anthonny Quin and John Carradine, among others, and the film won the Oscar for best cinematography.

Juan Gallardo is a man who has dreamed of all his life, since he was a child, was to succeed as a bullfighter, a profession that his deceased father had already had.

After many difficulties, Juan manages to achieve his dream, and becomes a leading figure, also marrying Carmen, his longtime girlfriend.

But, when everything seems to be going smoothly for Juan, Sol will cross his path, a frivolous aristocrat with whom he will live an affair. From this moment on, luck will change for Juan, beginning an accelerated decline.
