According to the NokiaPowerUser.com article Hmd Global is considering adding an iris scanner-a biometric device considered safer than a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition system. The Nokia 9 will sport an out – of-the-box 5.5-inch Quad Hd Oled monitor (1440 * 2560), running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, the handset is also likely to offer 6Gb Ram and 64Gb or 128Gb storage. It’s also reported that Nokia 9 comes with ‘ Ozo ‘ audio enhancements that suggest some kind of virtual reality support. Nokia is selling a $45,000 professional Vr camera under Ozo branding, and house a 3800mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology is also rumored. Finally, Microsoft noticed that Windows 10 users want better integration with their smartphones and the company is ready to do this through its Android Microsoft Launcher. The big news is that you will be able to apply the Windows 10 October 2018 Update to Android starting today, Microsoft Launcher will receive an update (which should be available at any time now in the Google Play Store) that will make your Android device and your Windows 10 easier to interact with each other. Microsoft Launcher 5.0’s new features include a brand new ‘ Your Feed ‘ screen, and support for Windows Timeline. When you download Microsoft Launcher 5.0 to your Android device you’ll need to sign in using your Microsoft account (the same one you use on your Windows 10 Pc). From there on your Timeline operation will synchronize across both of these devices just as it synchronizes across different Pcs. Naturally this applies only to compatible apps. For example, instead of other productivity-related approaches, you’ll need to use Edge to browse the Web and have your activities synced with Microsoft Office. Apparently the hacker has found a cheap and simple way to unlock Face I d but his employer believed the hack was misleading. Apple’s Face I d has defied all spoofing attempts against it so far that it has stayed unhacked for more than a year. A cybersecurity researcher named Wish Wu who claims to have found a way to unlock a modern biometric authentication scheme canceled the related presentation after it was rejected as “misleading” by his employer Ant Financial The presentation was titled “Bypass Strong Face I d: Anyone Could Deceive Depth and Ir Camera Algorithms,” and was scheduled for presentation at the 2019 Black Hat Asia hacking conference. Wu’s response to Reuters was: “We have decided to cancel the speech in order to ensure the integrity and quality of the research results” Ant Financial also added its clarification statement saying: “Face I d authentication process work is incomplete and would be misleading if presented.” As it happens, Ant Financial is one of those companies that currently use facial recognition technology for their payment system (Alipay) including the Apple system. That said Wish Wu’s employer will face a lot of trouble with the potential discoveries created by such a briefing at the meeting. The method described in the talk abstract involves a printed image on an ordinary b w printer, as well as a tape. The use of cheap materials and easily accessible devices to circumvent the inspection of several cameras and sensors makes the whole thing really interesting and if the hack is really working it is bound to leak to the public soon no matter this cancellation. The Black Hat Conference is a prestigious event that is attended by many industry professionals interested in getting to grips with the new technology innovations. That said, all talks are checked by the organizers ‘ conference board before they get included in the schedule and participants need to show that what they’re about to present is actually valid. In this case, Wu persuaded the board that it was possible to replicate the hack and provided evidence supporting the talk. We’ll have to wait and see if the hack is really true or not.
