Jacques Pepin was born on 18 December 1935 to Jean Victor Pepin and Jeannette Pepin in Bourg-en-Bresse, near Lyon, France. His mum was a chef. Jacques parents run Le Pelican, a restaurant. He was born and raised in France, where he lived with his siblings and his mother. Jean-Victor Pepin has three children and among them Jacques was the 2nd son. He had served in this parent’s restaurant at the early stage. When he was o boy of 13, he was an apprentice in a kitchen. Jacques has moved to the USA after finishing his apprenticeship in Paris. He worked as a chef in the United States top-class hotels, and then became a research director at Howard Johnson’s. Jacques has a marital affair with Gloria Pepin. They tied the knot in 1966. They spent a long, more than half-century friendship. The couple welcomed a daughter called Claudine. Gloria featured regularly in several television shows and other programmes.
