It is unclear that the change in design will fix the problems as the current MacBook pros are too fresh to create problems. The MacBook Pros era of 2016 and 2017 had a number of hardware problems which users complained about. Since the introduction of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, Apple had to deal with a large number of complaints, from defective keys to bending problems. While the keyboard problem was resolved with the manufacturer promising to “fix” them out of the box for free and newer models, we haven’t seen Apple deal with the Flexgate issue until now. According to an iFixit article, the new MacBook Pro models come with a new monitor cable which could serve as a fix for display problems. .333.333 Figure 2 Picture Courtesy of iFixit According to iFixit, although the issue was that $6 monitor cable users were asked to pay $700 to modify the whole display including the cable. In case a new patch from Apple doesn’t work out the situation won’t change. If users run into the same problems over time, they will be required to change the entire show. With the launches of the 2018 MacBook being fairly new it is unclear if the current-gen laptops have the same issues.
