Audra ann mcdonald was born in 1970 in Berlin, Germany.
She grew up in Fresno, California, the older of two sisters, and began studying acting at a very young age to counter her diagnosis of “Hyperactive”.
Attended the Theodore Roosevelt High School in Fresno, and began performing with the director Dan Pessano on the Junior Company of the Good Company Players.
