The tenor and actor Anthony Laciura He was born in September 1951 in the city of New Orleans where, as a child, he began to study singing.
After high school, he studied music at the Loyola University of New Orleans and in the Tulane University.
He made his debut as a child in the Opera Association from New Orleans; and there, due to his age, he played a soprano role.
Years later he would debut as a tenor in the Metropolitan Opera House from New York where, since then, he has performed more than 800 performances in almost 60 different roles.
Many of the operas he has worked on have been filmed and marketed; between them “The force of destiny” (1984), “Francesca da Rimini” (with Renata scotto Y Placido Domingo; 1984), “Tosca“(1985),”Carmen“ (1987), “Turandot“ (1987), “Les contes d’Hoffmann“(1988),”Ariadne auf Naxos“(1988),”The West fanciulla“(1992),”Falstaff“ (with Paul Plishka, Mirella Freni Y Marilyn horne; 1992), “I Lombardi alla prima crociata” (with Luciano Pavarotti; 1993), “Le nozze di Figaro“(1998),”Wozzeck“ (2001) and “The Gambler“(2008).
Laciura He has also worked in theaters in Genoa, Amsterdam, Montreal, Mexico City, Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Santa Fe.
Currently the tenor is working on his first non-operatic role, playing Eddie kessler in the series of HBO, “Boardwalk empire“(2010).
Laciura He also works as a director and is a vocal instructor in the University of New Jersey.
