Luckily there are a number of Pixel and Nexus users who took it to the app community forums to report that their fingerprint sensors are no longer working since updating to Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The fingerprint sensors on the affected Nexus and Pixel handsets refused to start functioning again after they erased all the fingerprints installed on the phone and did a hard reset. This moment the issue affects both the smartphones Pixel and Pixel Xl, as well as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Google currently has no solution to this problem. Nevertheless, it is not clear what exactly caused this problem, but everybody expects to solve this issue as soon as possible. For a little over a week, the final update of Android 7.1.2 was rolled out to select users.
