The Oscar-winning filmmaker grew up in the city of Rockport, where he studied early. He then attended The California Institute of the Arts (known as “CalArts”) in Los Angeles, where he studied animation. After graduating in 1983, he began working as a screenwriter on the television series “Mighty Mouse, the New Adventures“.
In 1990 Stanton he joined the young Pixar company, being its second animator (the first was John Lasseter) and the ninth employee hired.

Stanton he has also executive produced other Pixar hits such as “Ratatouille“(2007) and”Up“(2009); he has also lent his voice to numerous characters in his films, the most well-known being that of the turtle Crush on “Finding Nemo“.
In his personal life, Stanton and his wife Julie, whom he married in 1981, they have two children named Ben Y Audrey. The family lives in Mill Valley, California.
