Lima was born in Salvador Brazil on 12 June 1981. Its nationality is Brazilian, and its ethnicity is Japanese and West Indian White Swiss African. She is a daughter of social worker Nelson Torres (father) and Maria da Graça Lima(mother). Her father had left the family when Adriana was six months old. She had only been raised by her mother then.
Even during her elementary school days Lima won several beauty pageants, she never thought of being a model. She joined the modeling world when she was approached by one of her friends to enter a modeling contest, because she didn’t want to participate alone. Lima was fortunately chosen by the sponsor of the contest and thus joined the contest. She took part and finished first in the famous Brazilian Ford Supermodel when she turned 15. Earlier, when she joined the 1996 Ford Models Supermodel of the World, she finished second.She has appeared on the cover of various magazines including, among others, the Bazaar, Harper’s Bazaar, Arena, Esquire. The April 2006 GQ which she was a part of was the publication’s biggest selling issue ever. Besides being a supermodel she has also appeared in several movies and television shows.
