Delmira Agustini was one of the great poets that Uruguay has given, who was born in Montevideo on October 24, 1887. Her aptitudes towards poetry came from a young age, since her experience began when she began to create poems to publish them in various newspapers both from Uruguay, as well as from abroad, also not only dedicated himself to writing for newspapers, since throughout his life he dedicated himself to publishing different books in which he compiled his lyrical creations.
His vocation towards poetry was complemented by his studies in music, painting and the French language, from which he had roots, since his origins varied between Buenos Aires, German and French nationalities. Since these aptitudes towards poetry were already seen in her from a young age, her family dedicated herself to caring for and fostering these aptitudes.
His poems were based on erotic and sometimes dark themes, in addition his form of expression reflected feelings that border on tragedy with an intense love. In his time, the movement that arose around poetry was ruled mainly by men, however many of them admired and were amazed by the expression of such depth and manifestation of such different emotions in a single poem.
Mainly his publications were carried out in the Alborada magazine, very famous at the time in which he lived, in addition there was also the publication of his poems in newspapers of the country, in this way the myth of Delmira Agustini spread and grew. In addition to these publications, his poems compiled through the books of the White Book, Cantos de la Mañana and Los Cálices Vacíos, also came to light.
However, although professionally he was growing and publishing poems that were recognized in various fields, his sentimental life contrasted with this and was more similar to his literary works, because although he got married, his marriage did not last and he sought to rebuild his life by marrying again. , a marriage that was tarnished when her ex murdered her and that after such an event her second husband committed suicide because he could not bear her death.
Little by little his life, his poems and this tragedy have become a myth, from which his publications stand out and his peculiar way of mixing both eroticism and love that in several of his poems seemed to be so intense but so tragic.
