Agustin “Fat” Calleri, is an Argentine professional tennis player with 2 ATP series titles. He has been a professional since 1995, uses his right arm and measures 1.82cm.
He was born on September 14, 1976 in Río Cuarto, Cordoba, Argentina where since childhood he began to play this sport.
The life of Calleri would be affected in 1996 by his decision to move away from the courts, alluding that he did not like to train. He was faced with two options: study or work in his father’s winery.
Apparently neither of them liked him very much, so he played again in ’97. In that same year he would be rewarded with U $ S 25,000 in prizes for his first Challengers tournament in Weiden, Germany.
In the 2002 participated as a member of the Argentine team in the Cup Davis, losing to the Chilean Nicolás Massú after having been a match point on him.
The 2003 it would be his best year, where he would beat his compatriot and friend Mariano zabaletto in a very tough and exciting match winning the Acapulco Masters. Despite falling before Guillermo Coria, another Argentine tennis player, in Hamburg Calleri would end the year as a number 18 in the world ranking of the ATP.
Later in the 2004 would beat Juan Carlos Ferrero placeholder image, number one in the world at that time, leaving his name strongly marked.
The 2005 kept it between the ranking of the TOP 100 and the 2006 would smile at him with his second tournament, the Generali Open of Kitzbühel.
By this time, Calleri began to be included within the “Legion Argentina de Tennis”, as the commentators called it, made up of David nalbandian, Guillermo Coria Y Guillermo Cañas.
