Sebastian telfair is a well-known basketball player of American origin, famous for his current participation with the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association.
Sebastian Telfair was born on June 9, 1985 in the city of Brooklyn, located within the state of New York, USA.
Inside the playing field his position is that of Point Guard and he usually wears shirt number 30. His maximum height is 1.83 meters and he weighs approximately 73 kilograms.
During his adolescence he approached competitive basketball in the Abraham Lincoln High School. Little by little his ability became more noticeable, until the year of his graduation many university institutions wanted to tell him on their campus.
Telfair had arranged to join the University of Louisville, since it promised him better facilities than the other universities that had already spoken with him.
Ultimately he entered his name in the 2004 NBA draft and became the shortest high school pick in league history.
Impressively, he was chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 13th position. Normally the first round is reserved for the best players out of college and this boy had made it without even entering it.
Like every newbie inside the NBA, the minutes of playing on the court really weren’t abundant in his first season. Nonetheless, Telfair managed to make samples like the one at January 1, 2005.
In just a quarter of the game played, he scored a total of 14 points, with a 50% effectiveness. He caught 5 rebounds between offense and defense and in addition to this he helped the team with 5 assists.
His rise as a player was rewarded in February 2005, when it advanced to be head of the establishment. Unfortunately the Balzers lost the remaining 23 games of the season, finishing with their worst record since 1975.
During the season 2005-06, under the leadership of a new coach, Telfair appeared as the Point Guard holder of the Blazers. Despite increasing his statistics, the board still felt that he was below the desired level for a Point Guard of the NBA.
On December 2005 was replaced by Steve Blake after sustaining an injury to his thumb during a game. After 12 games off the court, he returned to play in January 2006.
The June 28, 2006 was sold together with Theo Ratliff, Raef LaFrentz, Y Randy foye to the Boston Celtics, in one of the changes with more players in recent times.
Despite his good game, Telfair did not seem to satisfy the Celtics, so the April 24, 2007 officially announced that his name would be removed from the players’ lockers.
This was obviously not a contract termination, but it did not confirm it as a player during the season. 2007-08. Finally everything became clear when he was part of the change of players of the Celtics for Kevin Garnett of the Timberwolves.
Over the past two years, Telfair has suffered a number of allegations that were subsequently proven unjustified: In February 2006 a firearm possession case got him suspended for two games.
On October of the same year he had to report a stolen chain for the value of 50 thousand dollars, which finally proved to be his brother’s. The police then gave him back the money the chain was worth.
Last April 20, 2007, after a stop for exceeding the speed allowed on the route, Telfair was stopped along with a friend by the police of Florida. Officers found a .45 caliber revolver under the back seat, to which friends claimed they had no knowledge. As of today, this case has not been clarified.
