James Frain – Biography of James Frain

James frain was born in March 1968 in Leeds, England; He is the oldest of eight siblings.

He began his studies at the Newport Free Grammar School; later he studied English, Film and Drama at the University of East Anglia and trained as an actor in the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

He made his film debut in 1993 in the film “Twilight lands“after being discovered by Richard Attenborough, director of the aforementioned film. Since then he has developed a successful career on both sides of the Atlantic.

Among his most memorable roles are that of Kenny on “Nothing Personal“(1995) for which he received a nomination as Best Actor in the 1995 Venice Film Festival; Alvaro De la Quadra on “Elizabeth“(1998), and Danny on “Hilary and Jackie“(1998).
Other films in which he has participated are “Sunshine” (1999), “Titus” (1999), “The strength of love“(2000) with Natalie Portman; Y “Revenge of the Count of Monte Cristo“(2002), among others.
One of his last works for the big screen is in the adventure comedy starring Kate beckinsale Y Robert De Niro, “All are alright“(2009).

He has frequently worked in London theaters, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court Theater and theaters in London’s West End. He has also participated in works by Broadway, where he shared with his colleagues from the work “The Homecoming“(2007), the award Drama Desk Critics Award to the Best cast.
